Claims Department

GAIL MITCHELL is the Claims Manager for Florida School Boards Insurance Trust primarily overseeing the claims operation for workers' compensation.

Before joining FSBIT, Ms. Mitchell had seventeen years in the private industry with two major property and casualty direct writers. Additionally, she assisted the Department of Financial Services involving lost time litigated workers' compensation files for multiple state agencies. During her nine years of governmental service, she also handled Federal Civil Rights and employment claims and assisted with Consumer Services complaints regarding insurance related problems.

Ms. Mitchell worked with Treasurer Gallagher's Hurricane Multiple Deductible Program in 2005 where she reviewed and authorized claims for payment. She has extensive claims handling experience involving workers' compensation, homeowner and automobile claims that includes BI, PD, PIP, litigation, subrogation, field investigation, reserving and legal analysis, and was certified to write automobile and homeowner estimate.

Ms. Mitchell attended Tallahassee Community College (Phi Theta Kappa) and Florida State University. Some of her professional training has included State Farm and Allstate policy schools, Allstate Homeowner Estimating, Allstate Management Training, Vale Technical Institute, and has been an all lines licensed adjuster for over 20 years.
